A junior in Laga's corporate law practice has received a distinguished award from the Flemish scientific community.

Yannick Van den Broeke, has been awarded the De Maakbare Mens prize for his thesis entitled "The legal aspects of stem cell and embryo research" ('Juridische aspecten van het statuut van en het onderzoek op stamcellen en embryo's').

De Maakbare Mens is an organisation dedicated to publishing important and correct information about the latest medical and bio-technological developments and the ethic issues that surround the industry.

Yannick completed his thesis whilst finishing his last year as a student at the University of Antwerp studying medical law. Yannick is currently enrolled for a Master in Corporate law at the Hogeschool Universiteit Brussel. Yannick will receive his prize on 23 April 2009 at the De Maakbare Mens award ceremony held in Antwerp.
